Time is a very precious resource. It is like gold. What we spend today we will never be able to recapture tomorrow. It is one of the greatest gifts of life.
However, we often take it for granted or believe it to be endless. We often live as if we are already in eternity and this life will never end. But it will, and when we enter into heaven, we will be held accountable for how we spent this most precious of commodities. To those who spent it wisely, more will be given. But to those who squandered it, even what they have will be taken away. So, what are we meant to do with time and what does spending it wisely look like?
Time’s goal is to give everyone an opportunity to daily bring life in one form or another to the world we live within. Heaven will be about celebrating life and if we have never learnt to how to live well and fully here, then we will find it hard to live it to the full wherever we go to next, when we will have endless time and space.
It will be the great overcomers of life who will have learnt the most about how to truly live and thrive and survive. This life teaches us that each and every day we have choices and every choice is in some way related to either life or death. Every negative thought or utterance in some small way damages. Every life affirming word or phrase is like the sun bringing her warmth to a closed flower, encouraging her to dare to open up her petals and reveal the heart and colour of who she really is.

At the end of life, some people’s petals will be fully open and the stamens and pollen at the heart of them will be visible for all to see, whilst others will have never discovered that they were a thing of great beauty, lovingly designed and created to bring joy to the world through their lives.
Each day we are given the gift of time to unfold our petals under the sun’s warm rays. It is a limited resource. Enjoy spending it wisely.
How do you regard time?
How well do you use your time? How might you better appreciate it and use it wisely?
If you only had six months left to live, how would you choose to spend them?
