On dark days all one can make out are the bleak clouds threatening to release their rains upon us. But why be fearful of those rains? Rains bring life. Rains water the parched earth of our beings. They bring much needed life to seeds that sit in the soil of our being and cannot be released without them. Unless a seed dies and is broken open, the life within cannot be released.

The rains are not something to be feared, for they always bring new life and new hope. Yes, when there are too many rains there can be floods, but don’t focus on the extremes of too much rain, focus instead on the seeds able to germinate, ready, willing and able to produce new life.
In a famine, when the land is parched, people would give anything for the rains, for they know that no crops can grow without them. All their labours of digging and planting are wasted, unless those crops can be watered. Water is the source of all life. Why then fear it? When the rains come, recognise that something good and new is being birthed in the world. It is a time of growth. At the end of the rains, things will have been released to grow and thrive which could never have been possible without them.

So do not fear the rains that pour forth from these dark clouds. Celebrate that the world is being made anew to better reflect the heart, mind, soul and spirit of its creator. God can only ever bless, so look for the hidden blessings during this time. They will be sprouting up everywhere. You simply just need to have the eyes to see them. Open your eyes. Take in not only the dark clouds above but the new life below.
What new life can you see sprouting in your life at this time?
How do you react when you see dark clouds? Do you focus more on them than the patches of blue sky? Can you think of an example?
What do you fear about the rains in your Life?
Think of a time when the rains nearly overwhelmed you. Can you now see the new life that was germinated and then sprouted as a result of those rains? Name them.
