In all lives there is a searching; A searching for meaning and a searching for answers to the questions that everyday life poses us. In our search, we begin to discover a little bit of wisdom, which we then try and pass on to others, hoping that there will be something sweet in this honey which will bless them.
Every person has discovered their own unique brand of honey. It has poured forth from all that has happened to them in their life. This wisdom is never about putting another down. It is always about lifting them up. It is never about bringing darkness, only lighting a candle of hope. It’s about providing something of substance, that others might be able to stand upon and find a firm footing.
Wisdom can come in many forms and ways. Nature offers us her wisdom each and every day. She tells us of the seasons. She reveals to us the truth that we begin as nothing, grow, blossom, fade away and then die. She shows us two kingdoms lying side by side next to each other; the kingdom of the world, (land), and the spiritual kingdom,( sea). She teaches about us being in a world where there is both light and darkness and how we can never run away from one without meeting up with it again.
We have learned to live in a world of day and night and to not be afraid of the night. Nature whispers that to us too. “Do not be afraid of the things you don’t understand or can’t make out. Don’t be frightened of night time experiences, because the Moon will shine her light and the stars will be above you speaking of the vastness of the galaxies and your own smallness in comparison.”

Yet we are also shown, if we but have the eyes to see, the care, love and tenderness that went into making a single blade of grass or an insect no bigger than a dot on a piece of paper. We are so small and yet we too have been created uniquely in love.
Spend this time looking at the nature all around you. Learn to listen to what she is trying to teach you. Hold her in your hand and be amazed by her intricate design and colour. Wonder at her. Be in awe. You are living in an incredibly complex and exotic universe. During this time of stillness, take time to notice her once again as you did when you were a small child. Become like a little child again, being captivated by the wonder and beauty all around you.
The world is slowing down, giving you a chance to catch your breath and be drawn back into the delight of being truly alive and all that might mean. In life’s frenetic busyness, the simple pleasures of life have often been lost. Take this time to rediscover all life has to offer you and take from her rich store cupboards. Learn from her wisdom. It is as honey on your lips.

What is the wisdom that you long to pass onto others?
How might you best be able to do that?
Take 10 items from nature and spend at least a minute or two with each of them. Record in some way what each experience spoke to you of. That wisdom was nature trying to share with you today?
